REGULATIONS AND POLICIES

University of Kentucky Residence Halls

It is the goal of the University of Kentucky to provide a safe and healthful atmosphere for the residence to live and study while attending the University. To accomplish this, the residence staff has a responsibility to assist the University in obtaining and maintaining a high degree of fire/life safety while living in the residence halls. The University Fire Marshal, in conjunction with the Office of Residence Life, will assist each residence hall in implementing this program through inspections, training, and compliance with the regulations and policies. These programs are based on the Kentucky Building Code (KBC) and the Kentucky Fire Prevention Code (FPC).

To enhance the fire safety program, the attached regulations and policies have been developed. Compliance with these regulations and policies is mandatory. Any questions should be directed to the University Fire Marshal (257-6326).
