- HALL DIRECTOR
- Train Resident Advisors
and Staff Assistants/Desk Clerks on the Fire/Life Safety Regulations
and Policies, emergency procedures, and general safety requirements.
Refer to training outline.
- Ensure that the Resident
Advisors train the occupants of their floors.
- Implement Fire/Life
Safety Regulations and Policies.
- Conduct and evaluate
fire drills.
- Ensure that all fire
alarms are immediately reported to the U.K. Police.
- Ensure that reports
on all fire drills are sent to the University Fire Marshal (within
48 hours following event).
- Report all discharged
fire extinguishers to the University Fire Marshal.
- Report all general
safety deficiencies to the Office of Occupational Health & Safety.
- Ensure all accident
reports are sent to the Office of Occupational Health & Safety.

- RESIDENT ADVISOR
- Ensure the evacuation
plan is accurate, posted and all occupants understand the evacuation
procedures.
- Instruct everyone on
the floor on the proper method of turning in alarms and the location
of the fire equipment.
- Report deficiencies
in fire drills to the Hall Director.
- Ensure all
passageways and exits are kept clear at
all times and fire doors to stairs are normally closed.
- In the event of a fire
alarm, but only if conditions permit, check each room to ensure
all occupants have evacuated.
- After evacuating the
building, report the status of the floor to the Hall Director.
- Assist the Hall Director
in the implementation of the Fire/Life Safety Regulations and Policies,
emergency procedures, and general safety requirements.
